are the gear select letters meant to have a backlight on a vz

or does the gear ur in just come up on the dash, dont want to take apart the console for nothing if it doesnt have a globe. sorry for the stupid question but never seen a vz before now.

Yep, letters next to the selecter light up

Hinge down the fuse compartment & pull off the O/S cover only to the console..that's all you need to do to get access takes about five minutes.
It takes longer trying to fit the globe.

Thanks for that tip. I've had the globe for a couple of weeks (it's just a clear one, not green) and haven't fit it yet. Will do soon..

Just did it and was much easier just taking off the side trim than taking the middle console off which I was going to!
Looks like a small 2W push in globe. Part 92145420 , about $2 I think it was.

Yeah same problem with mine, there is no light where the it should show where the gears are : /
