Ive got 3.08 waiting to go in. I was told that this ratio was 10 fold compared to the 2.87 which is in the sv6. 3.46 is the best ratio. 3.7 may be abit to much.

    Is it auto/manual?

its an auto with CAI and goin in for new diff hence the question , tune and new plenum/manifold and thottle body on thursday .
3.08 isnt that the standard diff ratio in the ecotec 6's ??
with the 3.7's it should be sitting on around 2200rpm @ 100kmph from what i've been told which isnt all that bad as the car dose not do much highway kms

thanks for the input too its good to have some advice =]

ive got heaps of mates who has 3.9's in the ecotec vt's and ive driven some and its great 3.7 would be better for economy/acceleration i wouldnt bother with 3.08 although ive never had a vz before

As long as he doesnt do a heap of hwy k's he'll be right. As keeping in mind at 110 eng revs will be around 2600-2700.

Since my SV6 has a severe diff clunk problem im also seriously considering getting a Kazz LSD centre but im not sure what gears will work best in the 5 Speed Automatic which does 90% around town and 10% highway. Its between 3.7 and 3.9's????? Maby even 3.46 if that would make a nice difference?
