    Default SV6 LED Headlights

    Hi Guys,

First of all i have searched and could not find any other 'how to' tutorials on this topic. I have seen some VZ SV6's that have changed their parking lights to LED's.

I would love to hook some up on my SV6, but need some help.

Can anyone shed some light on this topic for me or point me in the right direction?

    ie:

    voltage on LED's
    where i can get some
    mounting tips
    etc

    Here are some examples,

i reckon it's lost its effect.. too many idiots with stock 90's ford lasers and pulsars stick them on their car to look hecktic.. Gives it a sort of cheap look.

    Sorry just my opinion

My concern is the aesthetic appeal when the lights aren't on. A plastic tube attached to the outer headlight... anyone got some photos of them attached?

Actually looks better than I thought.

Regarding LED Headlight globes, I thought the LEDs weren't really up to the level of brightness halogens can achieve?

WOW its good to see other people following this trend of having L.E.D's underneath the headlight. Sadly I removed mine last week due to the fact that it defeated the purpose of having the 2 hole mod or any CAI mod, as there was no where for the MCAI to draw cold air in from as the tube of L.E.D's blocked the cold air from entering underneath the headlight. It then had no choice but to draw in hot air from the engine bay, this resulted to performance loss, especially it warm/hot days.

I had a good look behind the light assembly and there is a large hole that leads down behind the bumper so cold air should not be a prob.....Mick.

Well, my bumper was sitting flush with the headlights to begin with; there would be no difference in performance in my opinion as the air intake was designed it come from somewhere other than a tiny gap below the lights.

it seems no one can give anyone a straight answer on the legality of these lights.
seems you have done the job.
i am keen as now to get some white lights going in the ute.

so you connected both negatives from each LED and wack'em onto the negative side of of the bat. then run the positive wires into a switch in the car somewhere.

Thats probably not quite as bad as I pictured it. Is it really noticable when you look at it, or are they fairly discreet and factory looking?

i found the easiest way was to tap onto the green and black wire in the parker circut with the + on the led and just run the negative to the body of the cars somewhere convenient, job done lights come on when ever the parkers are turned on...

I just went + and - on the parkers - very easy and don't have wires running around everywhere...
