Alloytec Sedan (SV6) 190kw highway 8.1L/100
This was observed on a trip from adelaide to geelong, with the fuel usage reset prior to embarking from adelaide.
Normally i sit around 11.3L/100 average per tank (mix of both city/highway)
Alloytec SVZ 172kw Highway 9.3L/100km
Thats a trip from Perth to Busselton. City I get between 12.8 to 13.8L/100km.
Best I've ever gotten is 8.2L/100km on the above trip, but that was a fresh reset as soon as I hit the freeway on the way back.
Alloytec 3.6L V6 175kw
Highway = 7.9 L
General Driving = 13-14L
best ive gotten is 4L/100 when i took my foot off the acceleator on a slope highway hahaha !!
HSV Clubsport VZ Body Conversion - Mace CAI - 2.5" Walker Single Catback - Red Neons - Custom Dash
Alloytec 3.6L V6 190kw
Genral Driving = 10.1L
2005 VZ S Ute 4 speed auto
I think best I got on the highway was low 8s but it usually sat around low 9s
VZ Calais - Alloytec 190:
Freeway 7.1L/100km
Local: 10.5L/100km
Average (what it says atm, but is 70% freeway): 8.8L/100km
EDIT: Ave Speed is 59km/h

When posting your fuel consumption figures, it would also be worthwhile to include your average speed for the last tank. This will help to show people what mix of highway/city driving you are doing and make the figures more comparable.
That is exactly what I was going to say. People's ideas of Freeway driving, or Highway driving, or City driving can all vary considerably even though each person using the same term thinks they are correct.
So for anyone with a cluster that allows the "average speed" and also "distance travelled since the reset" and "time taken to travel this distance" to be read from when the trip reset occurred, then please input that figure.
Given the 3 extra pieces of info being average spd, distance, and time taken, this will allow more detailed comparisons. Lots of people wonder how they seem to get worse economy than someone else doing same highway driving with same type of vehicle.
Many figures quoted such as near on 7.0lt/100kms will be an interesting read with the extra information as in normal driving even on freeways, this figure would be very hard to consistently achieve over long periods of time unless the reset was hit at the start of freeway once up to speed, then cruise activated and trip stopped before slowing down or encountering any hills etc.
Lets bring out all the figures boys and girls. Understandably some clusters dont allow for these full readouts, but my Calais does and I will put down some figures when I next reset. So if you have access to any extra info, then post that up with your figures.
Vz Adventra 190kw 3.6L (extra weight, kerb being 2T)
last highway trip, average speed 105 distance 600km time around 6 hours = 10.3L/100km
city driving, average speed 35-40 distance 550km time 14 hours (not 100% sure) = 13-14L/100km
I totally agree about the average speed needing to be included. My SV6 has been all over the place the last few months, i recently changed oil and i think ive gotten the fuel consumption to a decent figure.
Highway 8.0L/100kms (average speed 110km/h) This is a highway run from Sydney to Gosford, then reset the trip computer and drove back to Sydney again and averaged the figures.
City Driving 13L/100km (average speed 30km/h) This can get as high as 15L/100km if traffic or right foot is heavy.
Traveling Ballarat to Maryborough, filled up and straight on the highway, 100Km/hr 62odd Km distance, was taking it very easy.
Average 6.7L/100Km. Best figure noted during trip, 5.6L/100Km

I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........
And Yes, it is a manual
Well atm, its sitting showing
avg speed: 32.7km/h
avg fuel: 13.4l
Normal: 11-12l/100km
Hwy: 7-9l/100km, depending on distance traveled
The Blue One
My last tank:
Average Speed: 45.9km/h
Fuel Consumption: 10.4l/100km
Car: 04 VZ SV6, Auto 5 speed.
Driving: No highway roads, mix of city driving which ranges from 50-70km/h.
Car Maintenance: Oil and filters changed every 7500, recently installed new coils.
Alloytech 175 Auto running 98oct
Did at trip at Easter from Springwood to Wodonga 3 kids the wife and a boot full. Set off down the M4 to the M7 then hit traffic got off the M7 to Camden Vally Way to Campbelltown back on the free way to Wadonga sitting on cruse @ 111K, 670k on one tank still had some left to go shopping.
Av fuel=8.2
currently avg speed is 47ks
avg fuel: 12.0
Normal: 12 to 14l/100km depending on traffic
Hwy: 8-9l/100km, depending on distance did dubbo to newcastle and averaged 8's and still had 200 to go on distance to go meter
best was when i accidently reset trip meter on the f3 and had a reading of 110k and avg fuel was 2.2l/100 but that dropped as soon as the downhill run finished
car is a 05 vz auto equipe lowered but thats all.

Avg Speed............ 39.5 km/h
Avg Fuel............... 10.7 lts/100kms
Trip Time.............. 8hrs 45mins
Trip Distance......... 345.54 kms
Fuel Used.............. 37.18 lts
Distance to Empty.. 260 kms
Vehicle is 2004 VZ Calais V6 Sedan. Driven fairly short trips of 7km each trip. Cold start trips to and from my girlfriends house each morning/night passing through 3 sets of lights and sitting on 60-65 km/h on cruise control when up to speed where possible.
Driving style is sedate/normal. I use steady throttle and prejudge traffic lights so as not to have to brake heavily only metres from line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Details below from a "Highway Trip" I did. Copy and Pasted from another thread from a while ago;
I went to Powercruise last weekend and did a fuel consumption run in my totally stock 2004 VZ Calais Automatic 190kw Alloytec V6. I sat on 115km/h on the open road and had to go through a couple of suburbs and some traffic once hitting the city. I was using normal throttle off the lights and overtook cars as necessary in a normal fashion.
Picture is below of my figures as per the computer. Upon filling up, it was revealed that I actually used 1 litre less than the computer readout. This is a common trend I have notice since I have had the car. At every fill up, the computer is always reading slightly more fuel usage than the bowser (only by a litre or so).
Going by the figures on my dash I got: 12.53 kms/ltr or 7.98 lts/100kms or 35.41 mpg
Or going my the bowser readout (1 litre less used): 12.83 kms/ltr or 7.79 lts/100kms or 36.25 mpg
So I would say that sitting on 115km/h and driving normally from lights and doing this in my Luxury 6 cylinder 190kw Calais and getting 7.79 lts/100km or over 36 mpg is fantastic.

People that think they are getting high 10's or even low 11's around town are kidding themselves, unless by around town you mean 80km roads with minimal traffic. Going off those figures you would be getting close to 680km a tank around town. lol I drive my car normally and on the freeway it uses the normal 7-9l/100km but around town with an average speed 38km/h mine sits on 12.2l/100km, no where near the high 10's some people claim.......
Avg Speed............ 69.4 KM/H
Avg Fuel............... 12.9 lts/100kms
I live on a country road and it's 110 for about 30k's before I get to 90 zones or anywear near built up areas, I hardly ever do city/around town driving.
I get about 600k's from a Tank, in saying this I rarely use Cruise control because I'm always stopping for trucks/ute that are doing 20-30k's under the speed limit.

So, did you see my post just above? If so, did I supply enough detail to you regarding my trip details. Are you saying that my details with which I have supplied are fabricated and incorrect, or are you classing 7km cold start trips as being not a town cycle.
Curious to know your response.
Just because your car doesn't get the claimed figures of others, that doesn't mean that others are the same. It can be due to many other factors regarding servicing of engine plus trans, diff etc, tyre psi, even which oils and fluids are used when servicing, what brand/type of tyre, what circumference of tyre, driving style. Some ppl claim they drive sedate. Sedate is a description and open to interpretation also. So many factors plus more. Unless you sit with someone in there car and check everything they do, then these figures can only be a comparison and will not exactly match from car to car.
