I heard a rumor that a certain company would be fitting SIDI injection to 175 and 190 alloytecs soon. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Or is it total BS.
If it's true, I'm definately looking into it. 210kw of power would suit my ute well.
Why bother, price would be through the roof probably.
Just buy a VE SIDI SV6!
The Blue One
I had teh same idea, thought 'what if...' So I enquired with Holden to this, turnes out it's more than just an SIDI head, there's a whole raft of changes between the stock alloytec 190 and the SIDI 210. The only common point seems to be the block, so different heads, injectors, pistons, crank, camms etc etc.... be an expensive overhaul. However I wonder how much it'd cost just to crate in a SIDI 210 engine into a VZ.....
I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........
And Yes, it is a manual
lol @ this thread
I'd rather go forced induction than SIDI. Probably better bang for buck.

Yeah, well, if you had 210kw you'd probably be looking for 225kw. Why not just purchase a V8
cant be done
well..."can be"
but is way more beneficial to trade in
thanks for the very 'constructive' input. I'll be on the lookout for such a kit, but sort of doubting the price a little. As a p plater, a mod like this would get around that silly law as it's standard in the new Holdens. I just hate the look of the VEs, I'd much rather drive the VZ.
If i was a p plater, i'd be saving my money for a v8 if i wanted more power for when i got my full license, not worrying about doing mods that will give you 3 fifths of F uckall difference. Just my opionion.
just turn up the boost, that will net you 210kw![]()
