Default Change Kilometers to match Old Instrument Cluster?

    Hi Guys,

Looking to upgrade my SV6 to a VZ Calais Instrument Cluster (level 3 cluster) but need the kilometers to match.

The only clusters i can find have 80,000+ KM's on them, and my car has done 67,200KM so would need it changed to suit.

Is this possible? ( I know holden cant do it if the cluster has over 100 km's on it as it is locked )

Can anyone in adelaide do this, if i provide the appropriate proof that they are not actually winding back the KM's further then what the car has travelled?

    Cheers,

Try ringing your registration authority in SA. The RTA in NSW reset mine a few years back on my old car, It had a fault where it started increasing by 10km for every 1km. They estimated the km based on the condition of the car and previous rego details.

agreed with troy, send phreddy an email or pm, if you can wait until he does the next adelaide roadshow i'd do that and get some extra goodies done

I dont think the RTA have access to the tools to reset it on newer cars, the old odometers could actually be rewound but the digital ones are stored onboard a control unit in the cluster, thus preventing people from winding back the odometer (in theory anyway)

Greg has managed to obtain tools suitable for accessing the data on this board on VY/VZ clusters.

I thought Phreddy could do it . Thanks for confirming!

I wonder what would be proof enough for him to do it, whether i can take a photo and have a JP sign it as true and correct then ship the cluster to him to change..

Probably best to wait for that adelaide roadshow, hehe.

I don't have the cluster yet, was just an enquiry as to if it could be done, and who could do it.

    Cheers Guys,
