bad startup/idle !!! ????

ive had this problem for as long as i can remember, i go to work at 8 30 in the mornings, so 8am i start up my car, the revs will be at around 1100-1200rpm n HI LO HI LO for about 1.5 minutes. if i start to drive off 10 secs after starting the car up i have to go up a hill, when i rev the engine revs and the car doesnt move then you give it more power then outta know where it just starts racing off. WHAT IS THIS?? is something stuffed up that i have to change or is this normal?

Quite possible it has chucked itself into limp mode, but can't make up it's mind.

Any errors coming up on the dash? Possible that a sensor has gone like Oil Pressure and it's thinking it isn't getting any oil.

nah i got no error coes coming up at all

this problem had been around since i first got the car, before i did any mods etc. i noticed this morning i started up and drove, as i was coming up the hill the car was just not moving anymore and i had the INST FUEL GAUGE displaying 78L/100KM on the cluster. what else could the problem be? has anyone else had this problem as its really started to get on my f..... nerves!
