    Default VZ dyno results

    Hey guys,
Got some mods done to my Auto VZ SV6 last week and not to sure bout the dyno results...
Had a CRP6 inlet minfiold, Growler CAI, Twin 2 1/2" catback, 3.7diff gears and a vcm tune.
The dyno sheet says it max 159.1rwkw's and has 551.3N.M of torque, but after having a look around and seeing other people are getting 180+rwkw with simila or less mods just wondering if its possible they have stuffed up the dyno?? a few people ive spoken to have said it may have something to do with the increased gear ratios. just thought i would see what you guys think?

i'd scrap the growler cai and go for something like the mace intake.
and like troy said, other people may have been on a happy dyno

180rwkw with the cpr6 manifold, exhaust and CAI (even the growler) + tune, should be around the mark, im running everything there but ive got AWD and 2 1/4" catback with headers and hi flow cats and got 125.7awkw (roughly 180rwkw) and 450NM torque

if you fitted some headers and hi flow cats, with tune will open up little more and get you closer

As others have said get rid of the growler!!! And if you want to compair dyno results with others, go to the same dyno, same day, with the same operator. After saying that, don't get hung up on dyno figures!!! They are only a tuning tool.

^^^ That's what I was going to say the torque is almost the same as a VE GTS with less KW good result.

Alloytecs are hit and miss motors mate. What was it putting out before all the mods? For example my VZ SV6 was only putting out 135rwkw's standard where others on the same dyno (Castle Hill Exhaust) have put as much as 145rwkw's and even as low as 120rwkw's.

It is as simple as changing the corection factor to get better dyno results. Unless cars are run on same day with same correction factor the results mean nothing, as someone said before, they are a tuning tool.

torque reading is not an actual figure for the engine on a dyno, if your gearbox and diff were 1:1 ratio it would be so, but as you have diff gears it multiplie the figure a bit

thanks guys. My Cars heaps quicker and alot more responsive now which is what i was after so suppose the dyno sheet doesnt matter to much. now i just need to get it down to calder now and give it a run on the 1/4mile. mods cost around $6000.
