Check drivetrain warning

so old girl was takin the vz for a drive to get dinner when all of a sudden the tempreture went all the way up and a warning message said warning engine hot, or something like that, so she pulled over, we went to see what was rong with it, the radiator cap is fked and it h ad no water, so we put water in it, drove it home, ran fine, then it started saying warning check drivetrain, what should i do? its a 05 excutive
