    Question VY Handbrake Adjustment

I think I now know how to adjust my hanbrake on the VY, I viewed a post from 2007 by Warrick who explains the correct way.

Other comments talk about adjusting at the handle, I have done this and the handbrake still does not work and is fully adjusted, will have to do Warricks way at the rear wheels unfortunetly as it involves taking off the rear wheels.

Any comments on this would be appreciated.

If you adjust by the handle in the cabin you will end up stretching the cable. Adjust using the star wheel in the hubs at rear.

yeah unfortunately the proper way is to take the rear wheels off. get a mate to pull the handbrake when you adjust each side evenly a full rotation. don't go to tight because you might start to get the whooshing noise while your driving from the rear.

Raise the back of the car
    Take the rear wheels off
Back the nut at the handle off all the way
    Remove rubber grommet from disc
Turn starwheel until the shoes come in contact with the drum
Back off the starwheel one to two turns

    Repeat for the other side.

This is the quick way to do it. If you want to get technical, take the discs off and measure 128.6mm as the measurement from shoe to shoe using vernier calipers. Correcting with the starwheel until it is right.
