my scissor jack twisted n broke under my VZ when i had it elevated, theyre heaps of shit n i have a trolley jack now which is designed for lowered cars and is great, i was wondering if anyone knew who manufactured the scissor jack for holden? i dont really like havin the big bulky trolley jack in my boot and i called holden today n they wanted $130 for it!! i just want the jack to fit away nice in the designated space... if i cant find it ill just have to get a second hand one from the wreckers but id prefer new as i know these jacks are pretty flimsy as it is so if its second hand it could be even worse.
cheers guys.
You may well find one at a wreckers that has never been used. when I got my 03 VY in 2008 the spare and jack were both brand new, never used and still are.
yeah look at a wreckers, not just holden but some other brands might work and may be built better to?
How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
i had the same thing happen to me, except the thread inside just stripped and gave way, thankfully without me under it.. Holden wanted about $150 for a new one. i rang the dealer i bought it off and they gave me a another one free, same size but alot stronger. i think it actually might of been a Nissan one.. ill have a look and give you the details on it..
Must agree the standard jack is a flimsy piece of crap. Can't believe how much mine was flexing when I have had to use it. Was just waitng for it to colapse. Made sure once the car was off the ground I always had a wheel laying under the car so the car wouldn't end up sitting on the rotor on my driveway.
