hey guys, im after a better note out of my 175kw engine in my wagon. i know it wont sound like a v8 but surely there is a way to get a better note out of it. just a bit deeper note would be good. i dont mind the crackle as the engine winds down. i really have no idea what sort of system etc i would need and dont want to go down the exhaust shop and get screwed over. i havent done any modifications to the car as yet so its a clean slate. any ideas?
Welcome to the forums. There are many threads regarding this modification. Have you tried searching?
Some people say 2 1/4" and some say 2 1/2". I guess in the end, it doesn't matter what people recommend, because what sounds good to them, may not sound good to you. Maybe go down to your local exhaust shop and have a chat to them also. Ask if they have done any 175kw VZ vehicles and ask them what note it produced etc.
Personally Im not a fan of sports exhausts on V6 engines unless its to give better breathing for a worthwhile power upgrade like a supercharger or the like.
Again, just remember, you have been a member for 3 months and there is years and years worth of threads that are able to be searched with most questions already answered. Have a look at the top of the VZ Commodore section as there are FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions).
yeah cheers for that, i have looked through a fair few and wasnt sure if they were 175kw or 190kw. ive also looked on youtube for exhaust sounds etc and i think most of them are the 190kw engine. do the different moters have a different note or....i have been told that a single system would be good but i guess i wanted more than one persons opinion. i have been down and asked the exhaust place to fit a dual syste but i got told my a mate that it ight breath too freely and therefore have no note. i guess what im really after is peoples opinion on what i should get fitted/which way to go, and should look more thoroughly through other threads before asking for help.
