Default Diff gears in VZ ute

Okay so the other day a guy said to me to put 3.08:1 diff gears in my svz ute. seeing as it has 2.87:1 ratio in it as its a alloytec 190. he claims it will give me better performance.. now seeing as i know jack sh!t about diff gears! i was wondering if this bloke is right.. the reason i thought about it is because i actually have a full diff with 3.08:1 ratio gears in my shed. so if its gonna gimmie a gain till i can afford differnt ratio im might chuck them in.

    thanks guys

2.87 to 3.08 will be stuff all difference as 3.08 to 3.45 is not even worth it id go 3.7's but if there already in your shed just go for it

i thought all commodore irs where 3.07 or 3.08's.. havent heard of the alloytec's with 2.87 diff gears..but if u want better performance go with 3.7's or 3.9's they are great.3.45's dont really feel any diff from the 3.08's
