Unplug your cars battery for 10 minutes, plug it back in and see how it is then.

Also, have you changed your wheels by any chance?

I know that standard from factory the speed readout is offset by a few km/h. Normally when travelling at an indicated 100 km/h, your actual speed will be 96-97, so that sort of sounds about right.

I have noticed that the speedo and electronic speed display seem one or two clicks out.

I had the VZ Clubby and had the same problem!

I thought it may have been lag in the digital display. My digital display would display the correct speed but was a bit slower to display it

Most, if not all newish cars are a few percent out on the speedo. The reason they do that is it is illegal for the speedo to show a speed less than what the vehicle is travelling, so by making the speedo show more than the speed the car is going they are safe.

I would trust the GPS for the most accurate speed display. However if you want to change the speedo there is a little kit from jaycar that can adjust your speedo, called a speedo correction kit, funnily enough.

Don't yell mate, we can hear you clearly . (Sustained use of CAPS is considered as shouting.) Turn your CAPS lock off.

Nothing unusual about your speedometer 'problem'. All new vehicles must have a spedometer output that indicates the actual speed is higher than that being travelled. Check with your dealer and they will tell you that 2 - 3 km/ph fast is acceptable. I guess this has come about because so many drivers think they can travel above the speed limit because there is a 5 km/ph (or whatever) tolerance before Police will enforce law. Not so. I know several people who have been pinched for 2 km/ph above speed limit. How do you 'beat the system' ? Don't exceed the speed limit(s).
