Question 190kw Air intake Resinator

Does anyone know what the Resinator installed on the 190kw engine just before the throttle body on the bend in the air intake hose does, as the 175 doesn't have it. But one would fit and the bit is only $40. Does it give more power :

the variable inlet part is actually part of the inlet manifold after the throttle body, its simply a flap inside the manifold that opens and closes to join/seperate the two sides of the inlet ..... as for this resinator, i have no idea what it is as i have a 175kw motor

do you mean a plastic 'resorvoir' attached to the inlet pipe? if so, they are usually used to remove harmonic vibrations and drones which can be caused by certain inlet tract design. subaru liberties are a classic. they have 2 i think!
