Hey just wondering if anyone could possibly tell me an approximate sort of price to convert my 4sp auto into a manual??
That'd be great thanks![]()

do it yourself, roughly $1000 depending on how much the gearbox sets you back, maybe evan $1500
Vs eco 3.8, extractors, 2.75" exhaust, roller rockers, cammed, bored out 20, t5 manual, rolling on king springs all way round with monroe gt shocks all way round, every door has a ding but looks can be very deceaving
I got a quote last week for my ls1, not much change outta $6,500....

If your gonner do it, do it properly and use brand new parts.
yeh Andyman did it to his 4 speed wagon (4L60E) late last year and it cost somewhere around the $4000 mark for parts, plus you need to have some ECU re programmed, it started to get messy and expensive on a VZ. Barbados Blue VZ Wagon
PS hey Paul there's 2 photos in there of an unmodified box that only lasted 4 weeks in my car ;P
I would'nt go there, doing a transmission conversion is bad news for the resale value. You're better off trading the whole car in for a manual. There's bound to be someone out there who's sick of clutch pushing all day and wants to settle into a slush box.
But just remember, swapping a box will almost always set you back more than swapping the car because of parts, labor, calibration, tools and interior work.
Just my opinion.
Ok yep makes sense its looking wayy too overpriced at the moment ahah as I expected though..
Thanks for the info anyway very interesting

I agree with VzVzVz, at the end of the day you're better putting $6,500 towards an original manual car, I don't think it's worth spending that much on your car unless you love it that much :P
