Default VZ - Aftermarket Intake Pipe

Wondering if anyone's come across a larger aftermarket intake pipe from the throttle body to the maf sensor for the VZ V6's

I've been looking around, nobody seems to make em for the VZ. After adding a SS Inductions Kit I want to get a larger pipe (well two of them).

One to try on it's own and one to add a intake resonator on and try....... as the pod causes momentary air loss in the pipe at times over the stock setup....... a air resonator would probably help avoid it.

    Thoughts. Useful comments please.

^^^True but the HSV pipe requires the larger throttle body to suit. Which im not to sure will fit on the Alloytechs.

from what ive been told, once again, the maf is a restricter and it wont matter what size pipe you use as the maf is going to be smaller, unless you can get a bigger maf or change the ECU and go Mafless i dont think it would make any difference.

Bigger Maf is what i would be asking first, but i doubt it, there is no market for the alloytec

    EDIT: TYPO!

Intake pipe is 1cm smaller then the maf in diameter at the final bend to the throttle body. So the final turn no matter what you've changed at the front then becomes the final restriction.

Again I come back to the same thing. Billion dollar baby the VE........ V6 models have a massive air resonator at the throttle body to ensure there's enough air ready at all points of acceleration and thus also avoiding the narrow bend in design.

    ****

At this point I'm thinking of custom making one out of steal, cutting it to shape, welding it up, getting it coated in plastic to heat proof it.

So why doesnt an otr get any good gains?

Your talking about a bigger intake pipe that will allow more flow yeah? Well you cant get any better airflow then an otr which is a straight pipe into the front of the intake manifold, through a maf and TB. Yet any OTR tested does nothing, as the MAF is the restriction. Mafless would be awesome. butr its not available.

Try your piping though, it sounds like it will look good, maybe a good show style piece! Hope it works out for you all the same!
