Just recently my driver door has decided it isn't locking or unlocking, it just sounds the horn!
Any ideas? Thanks (The Door will open and Lock when it's done manually through the back door)

I can see a reason why the horn blips when locking - a door is not closed properly. As for unlocking - that's weird.
Yeah that's what I thaught, but it's not, the horn is being sent off by the door not locking or unlocking any ideas?

Usually if it's just a beep beep ....... it means your passenger door or your driver door isn't closed properly in particular (check that), check maybe the door latches? ... on all doors to see when u close it they work arnt broken etc......... otherwise it could be an issue with your key (going flat or some weird random thing).
If nothing it up with the doors, recommendation is to disconnect your battery for a bit (15 mins or so) and try it again. It'll resync the key n computers in the car.

Well if all the other doors are locking and unlocking I don't think it's to do with the key, any ideas?

I've just been out and had another look and the key unlocks all the doors except the the driver door, and locks all 3 doors except the driver door. When I insert the key in the door it also unlocks and locks all 3 doors but the driver door. The door is only able to be locked and unlocked by leaning through the back door, and it anly locks that door (dosen't lock all the others like it should) Help is much appreciated!

Sounds like the actuator inside the drivers door isn't working. You need to pull the door lining off to get in there and check it.
Ok thanks, Any ideas what to do once the trim's removed?

Having never seen inside a VZ door, I'm not sure what they're like. Make sure the electrical connections are clean and dry. You might be able to remove the actuator and test it yourself or take the unit to an autoelec and get them to test it for ya.
your solenoid is not working this is why the horn is sounding need to replace you can only buy at holden as one piece with lock mechanism common problem easy to replace.you should still be able to lock your car with key in door.
I personally don't think it's got anything to do with my solenoid as the car only beeps twice to alert me the door didn't lock. However the actuator sounds pretty spot on, Has any one else with a VZ fixed this themselves and can give me a guide on how to do this, extremly nervous incase I damage it, or can't get the door back together! Thanks

I had exactly the same problem with my VZ about a month ago. Driver's door lock solenoid was buggered; very common problem. Lock assembly cost me about $180 if I remember correctly. You cannot buy the solenoid separately.
There was a write-up with pictures on how to do it somewhere. I'll try to find it for you. It was a fairly easy job with basic tools though you will need a Torx tip (size T30 I think) to remove the lock plate from the door.
Later: Here is the write-up I mentioned. http://www.trackchat.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=2724

well if you personally dont think it is the solenoid why dont you fix what you think it is and stop asking for advice from people that might know ....
Thanks heaps RMXR, And whitevz2006 I'm only asking for advice so I know exactly what part I'll will need to buy, and how to fix it myself without causing any damage or taking the trim off for no reason. I'm not a machanic, nor an auto electrician so I have next to to no knowledge on this issue. Thanks again everyone

i had the same problem a while back. i found that it was the little red thing in the door lock on the inside that pops out the top of the door trim. i found that it had lost its grip on the rod that it connects onto and was not moving with the mechanism when you lock or unlock the car. check that out as it may be that. after replacing that on mine (which only cost like 25 cents or something) it works a dream. hope this helps
