My 2005 sv 6 is useing lot of fuel but it also seems to have more power could it be the oxygen sensors is there any way to test them ,the car has done 85000km and I have not changed the spark plugs but I have changed the fuel and air filters ,thank for any suggestions,

I have an Sv6 with about 143K on the clock and get around 12-13lt/100k, in city driving and when i do a trip at Highway sppeds of 100k get between 8.5-9.5/100km so i would say u may have a prob somewhere, maybe a blocked injector or two, have them removed and cleaned or replace the...Mick
I have a o5 vz exec 175 and round town 12lt/100 highway can be as good as 8
yeah my vz calais is the 190kw, its on between 10 and 12lt/100km. and i dont mind giving it a squirt every now and then. so u guys have some issues.....
I get similar figures to 'Hotblack', 'TrentL' & 'MattMarky' in my Calais. I do a lot of country driving and avg 9.4 L/100Kms. My best has been 8.7L/100Kms. (driving like a old fart). City driving increases my fuel consumption to anything between 10 and 12 L/100Kms.
The only way to test them (your injectors) is to remove them and test them on a proper test bench. Just buy some change-over ones.
are the injectors hard to replace on the sv6
dont know how hard they would be to replace...you may have to remove the intake manifold, take it to a mechanic get a queote...easiest way..
