    Default Custom catback exhaust

Hi just wondering if anybody has a v6 with a 2 1/4 cat back system as my local exhaust shop told me that would be best for the alloytec And dump pipe tips for around $550.
Will it Crackle much? Or what could be done to add more crackling I love that sound

I had a 2 1/4 catback on my VZ SV6 gives an excellent note but really not loud at all on idol or high speeds, its only loud when your cruising to be honest it has a nice growl. I got them to swap it for a 2.5 worth it

ive got a 2 1/4 on my vz wagon, gives it a good note when you give it a boot, crackles a little bit when dropped rev but no noise really at idle unless cold, mine also has a hotdog at front and sports muffler at rear. i got told that it would be best but have also heard that 2.5 is good too....what difference did you find 'figsv' with the note once going to 2.5?

I didn't really notice a differance in the note it produces, its still that really nice deep tone (i too have a sports muffler on) but yeah really deep tone and a lot louder. Obviously warmer the car gets the louder the car gets, when on idol it has a really nice hum too, i'm more then happy with it. I am eventually getting some pacemaker extractors and hi-flo cats quoted 990 for them!

Got all my stuff done at Ace Exhaust in croydon vic, good place good work

Be careful going to 2.5" as a lot of these exhausts drone when fitted to wagons.

yeah it does drone but im used to it now so it doesnt bother me. like it not an unbearable drone in the cabin....and yeah likewise it has that good hum at idle but not loud like a v8. im really happy with my setup but likewise im going to put a some pacemakers and hi flows on just to give that bit more kick. it already has that crackle when boot goes in.

hey dude, Ace exhaust are heaveyly into Redback exhausts systems so i think mines a red back. It's just a
straight back 2.5 inch pipe from the manifold no high flo cats or extractors *YET* and then it goes into a twin
exhaust tip. The guy tells me that when i get my extractors and high flow cats the car will be a lot more powerful and
also lots louder. My system is loud enough for the moment its a nice deep growl and turns heads everywhere when
im driving at low speeds even. When i chuck it in park and rev it its also pretty loud. I'm also quite fussy so if i say its good its alright. A twin system wont be as loud (correct me if im wrong) one of my mates who is into cars pretty heavey told me that the single pipe will produce a better sound and be a bit louder. But to be honest i would go a twin system purely for the fact it looks alpha as all hell lol

so it's just exhaust manifold, no cats at all? or just standard cats?, then straight 2.5inch pipe and to make it look good a twin exhaust tip right?

Its a full stainless steel Xforce kit, it is 6 months old. With Stainless tips. Over in Victoria but. Its basically just run in really. Only a couple of little scrapes on it, could pass it off as new. I love it, boot the car and the general consesus from all my friends and judging from peoples faces was "What The Hell"???? I do have a growler kit too though..... But ok you have called me out, My whole car is for sale and this 2.5 system with my stainless hiflow cats and pacemaker extractors is too loud to get a rwc. Looking for a gen 3 catback system just to quieten it down a tad. Very sad time for me, going from my beastie commodore to a 80 series turbo diesel landcruiser. Better than a stinkin tarago but.

haha bugger that...i don't see why..we should have cops doing research so they stop pullin car modifiers over...surely they know what a v6 with a good exhaust sounds like by now compared to a v8
