Well I took my car into their dealership last week for an exhorbitant servicing, and the next day when I had a closer look at my car, I noticed a crack and bump at the rear which wasn't there before I took it for servicing (I know this because I washed it just before then, and I would've noticed it if it was there).
So not only did I pay like 40 times the normal cost of having a car serviced, I also had my car damaged. I have organised with them for them to take a look at it, but I am sure they will deny it.
Does anyone know what avenues I have if they deny it?

As for having and avenues I highly doubt it as it will be impossible for you to #1 prove it wasn't there before it got to the dealership and #2 to prove the dealership did it.
If i was you mate I would be going into to give them a piece of my mind and maybe throw a few things
hahaha you's are right, you take your car into holden to get ripped off for a 1st year mechanic job...i know, i used to work for holden as a first year haha, was the worst 3 months of employment i've ever had haha
its easy enough to service it yourself i never let mechanics touch my car especially dealer mechanic apprentices.

I only gave it to them because I want the warranty. I know, it's stupid.
Standard Response Number 1:
"It was like that when you brought it in."
Just keep your cool, go in and tell them they did it and to kindley fix it. If not chuck a fit they are theives
stop droolin
the only reason i give my car to holden, is because my old man is an idiot and wants my car to be serviced properly and get done right the first time...? fair enough, but the 100 bucks an hour labour they charge? stuff that, im not getting charged by the hour to have my engine oil, tranny oil and diff oil drained..i can do that myself...holden will always do a shonky job though, when i worked for holden, i got in trouble for doing the right thing? i had my parents car get serviced there cheap, i told the mechanic, torque up the wheel nuts koz my parents aren't maying for new brake rotors everytime some idiot doesn't torque up their wheel nuts...so what does he do, he uses a rattle gun...so infront of the paul and scott wakeling themselves, including my boss n foreman, i torqued up my own parents wheel nuts, on the ground...sorry for getting off topic, but the point was, HOLDEN IS SHIT FOR SERVICING.. although, i would give it to holden so i can get that company stamp in the service book, it might look better to whoever you sell the car to later on..
I am so mad right now. I spoke with them today and they're denying responsobility (as expected).

haha good group, i joined, and sent a wall post![]()
Thanks man, appreciate it. I could use all the help I can get. I'm also thinking of taking them to the department of fair trading.
That group is ****ing stupid. Not only can you get in trouble legally, but youre whinging over nothing. You're comparing holden coolant to $6 crap from supercheap? The $6 stuff is basically coloured water, while the holden stuff is actually pretty damn good. I also don't want to know what kinid of oil you're getting for $12. Any decent oil is at least $35.

All the group says is that I'm never going there again, and asking people to share their experiences.
Btw, they offered to fix the damage for $1,000.
So let me get this straight - I pay extra premium fees for a service. They damage my car. And now I have to pay for it??!?!??!
now you removed the words from the pic i cant see there being a problem with it
When I bought my VY second hand it had just had a dealer service and the wheel nuts were done up that tight I had to use a long pipe over the wheel brace to get the nuts undone. God help me if I had of got a flat with them done up that tight there is no way the wrench in the boot would undo them without bending. Also the brakes had been machined and were different thickness from side to side and the engine was way overfilled with oil. When it came time for the 135,000 service they claimed it wa sa major service and wanted between $350 and $400 depending on the dealership. I bough the parts and oil myself for around $90 and did it myself and did everything the log book required. At $250 to $300 for the 1.5 hrs approx work as stated in the log book they can dream on.
Ask to speak to the manager / person in charge. Tell them that you want it fixed or you will be taking the matter much further. aka ACA or Today Tonight lol.
its rediculous isn't it wortus...when i was at holden, i saw mechanics doing up wheel nuts with a rattle gun on the highest setting and screwing them wheel nuts down so tight that the rattle gun wouldn't move them anymore..then they go around in a circle to stretch ur studs and **** everything else up that little bit more..when i first got my ute, and done a handbrake adjustment, i was jumping off a breaker bar to get my wheel nuts undone...surprised i don't have warped discs already with how tight them wheels were...my parents vy acclaim series 2 has gone through 2 sets of original GM rotors and they've all been warped from incorrect torque...now it has DBA rotors on the front..took it to holden for another service..coincidently, a few weeks later thye had been warped, they're not too bad for now, luckily i had a mate at repco that got me those DBA rotors for 50 bux each or else my old man would have cracked the shits...but yes, holden are a bunch of shonky mechanics..the old fellas are ok, they're abit more traditional in how they do their work..but with all the computers n technology going into our cars these days, i wouldn't give me car to an old mechanic koz they'd be the ones that **** ya up a bit more seeing as though they wouldn't know so much about computers in cars..its redonkulous
All dealers may be shit, my wife's experience with Kia shows that they certainly are. Personally, I have NEVER taken a car anywhere for a service other than my own shed. I know what's been done and that it was done properly. FTW.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
i'd love to service my own car..when i start earning the big bucks i'll start getting the right equipment and special tools to do it...can't wait to move out..when im retired im gunna have a nice big shed and have my own workshop ahaha..i hope...we can all dream...hmmm...if there isn't one already..maybe we should start a new thread about everyones experiences with dealerships and how they compare to independent mechanics?

I reckon they simply held the ball joint under th arm and belted it with a hammer when the arm should have been removed, the hole properly supported and the joint pressed in. I took it back and got told the car was fine so ended up going to MVRIC and they rang me with the shits. In the end they paid for the parts and I fixed it myself, they agreed to do wheel alignment and when I called to let them know it was ready for that they told me they would not as I had worked on the car so back to MVRIC, got a call from dealership 5 mins later asking me where I wanted to take it. Mentioned to MVRIC the charged me for that the first time so thry had to give me that back as well. When I repaired the car myself ball joints were not locked into the stub axle tapers and they fell out of the lower arms, so I had been given the car back in an un roadworthy and dangerous condition. The amount of grief I got off them and the attitude that it was an old car and some damage to fix it is reasonable was un believable. This is why I fix my car myself or take it to a friend for things I can't do as I know it won't come back worse than when I took it there.
In the end I fixed it with parts I had at home and it cost me a can of spray paint and the dealership had to pay me nearly $400.00.
These clowns clained they did not havr the tools to do these ball joints when every Holden has the same sized joints and there are millions on the road over that time. If I can make up tools and supports from water pipe, a welder and grinder to do the job once the proper way I can't see why a mechanic who would use these tools all the time does not have them it is bullshit. Anyway moral of the story is of you have been screwed over and/or had your car damaged don't give up, keep going and if youre right you will win in the end.
Just go back in there and tell them if it isn't fixed they will receive a letter from your solicitor taking it further and you will also contact Consumer Rights. Act very serious and see if you can bluff the dealership.
There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.
Eh, **** dealerships all together..the only thing they're good for is when you **** something up urself and you want it reaplced under warranty haha, other then that, i'd be servicing the car urself and just find a mechanic mate that can stamp ur service book so when you sell the car it looks like a mechanic has done it..![]()
