Hi ASR,
I just aquired a VZ Lumina. The 6 stack CD player wont loadCD's. Is this a common problem with a quick fix I can do? or do I need an expert?
Mike
Also, if you haven't used a Blaupunkt unit like this, do you realise you have to press load before being able to have the unit accept a cd. You are pressing load first?
Hi guys, thank for your responses.
Hi Rick, It won't load them. No Cd's will go in but I'll try Holden Ones advice, maybe I have to press load first then put the CD in!............Nup, didn't work.
I tried pushing the load button and putting the CD into the slot, nothing happens except the screen shows "PLEASE WAIT" with 6 discs below and the number "1" inside the first disc.
I didn't know if these means there is a disc in already so I tried "Eject" nothing happened.
I held the load button down and then the message "ERROR MECH" showed on the screen. I assume this means there is something wrong with the load mechanism.
So does anyone know what might be done to fix it? Is this common and easy or do I take it to a tech?
So let me get this right, did you press load and then immediately try to load disc whilst saying "please wait"? Which you shouldn't do. Or did you press load button and wait for about 5 secs or 10 sec at the most until "please wait" goes away and then try loading cd?
Or does "please wait" stay in the display indefinetely after you press load and wont go away?
If its a yes to the last question, then you must have an issue. Im unsure of the fix to this. I do know that new units can be purchased. Link below;
NVU, Genuine Holden parts to suit Holden Commodore VR,VS,VT,VX,VY,VZ,Monaro,Statesman,Utes and HSV
its not a common issue.
Try keeping EJECT held down for 5 or so seconds to see if it unloads any CD's in the magazine, as pressing eject only unloads a CD (if one is loaded) in the magazine slot selected.
Although ERROR MECH does indicate a fault, in which case we can't help as we don't have spare mechanisms lying around. You might be better asking in the VZ section of this forum to see if anyone else has had the same issue.
Hey thanks for your advice fella's.
I tried all the above ideas and none worked so I guess I have a problem.
Given that its an unusual problem and "mechanisms are not lying around for these things" (and I guess that means they are not available) i am going to attempt to fix it myself! By pulling the unit apart. That darned Engineering background, just won't let me not pull it to peices!!
Stay Tuned!! Watch this space!! but don't hold your breath eh.
