wondering is there any aftermarket options for a bigger throttle body for the V6's..?
with it being electronic and shit like that, would u still be able to get a bigger throttle body?

none available that know off, and nothing can be done with the stock item...
i have one here in pieces... lol

unless you wanna get one off a fly-by wire v8, re wire the plug, and make an adaptor plate...

well maybe i wont sweat it lol.
i'm just thinking about smallish shit like that, that would make a difference to the car.

also..... people say that the alloytecs don't go well being MAFless tuned... why exactly??????????????

It would be good to see more tuning parts for the Alloytec. A better flowing throttle body may be difficult because of the error correction in the DBW. There is a check made against the measured airflow and the throttle angle achieved (measured at the TB) vs road speed and engine speed so that if the airflow for a particular throttle position is more than is "possible" the DBW goes into a limp home mode. That would have to be considered if swapping in a higher flowing TB. Maybe the parameters in the PCM can be changed.

A bigger TB would also affect the operation of cruise control and TC.

well decided spin the throttlebody i have to see what could be done, and turns out i was wrong...

result after machining is a 74mm butterfly machined out from the stock 68mm...
    10% larger in area
had to be very careful while machining... the front diameter of the tb is only 70mm... so its not 74mm all the way thru...

tomorrow it will hopefully be completed ready for a test drive
im expecting a little bit more response, maybe a little more boost... but also the gearbox to shift earlier..

    a 75mm throttlebody from the v8's are $220 i think from holden

Ive been trying to figure this out for a wile now.....Theres a company that uses the same motor as us (cadillac's and Commodore's)
Cadillac CTS V6 Offroad Engine Package From MecTech Motorsports

And these guys have a 75mm Cable driven throttle body on it

fitted the modified throttle body, but no good...

car idle surges between 1000-3000rpm and after about 20 seconds throws a check powertrain....

rang Matt Stocker the best alloytec tuner and the vcm software doesnt have the idle parameters available to tune... the v8's do but not the alloytec

so thats the end of the line...

    before - 68mm

    after - 74mm
