someone had a same problem but cant for the life of me find the thread
ive got this bad ticking tapping noise coming out of my engine bay (it isnt the regular tick the alloys get thou, thats still there also)
id compare it to that of hydraulic lifters on a subaru sticking
ive also got a problem with my power steering its making a slaving type noise(heaps of fluid thou) sometimes when stationary and you straighten the wheel it gets a vibration through the wheel and makes a strange noise
my accessories belt is squeeling like crazy also a mechanic i know things the steering and belt maybe related but it started playing up well before the belt started squeeling but not long after i had my sway bars installed
steering specialist has looked at the car but says nothing is vissibly wrong
car is going into a stealership in the next few weeks im gunna tell them to do open heart surgery on the engine to see whats going on as it doesnt make this tapping noise all the time(and never when i take it to a mechanic)
and they can replace the accessories belt while they are at it and check the steering rack and power steering pump
i also got told about some adjustment to the steering dampening that is made automaticalty to the steering depending on the speed (holden tech mentioned it) anyone know anything about this, because if the dampening works off throttle position maybe the pedal adjustment has something to do with it
ive got no F***ing idea whats going on with the car but im sick to death of it
id die before i bought another alloytech
I had the same problem in my work car (VZ Wagon). I took it to holden (holden leasing car) so it was free, and they said it was my driving train. They fixed it in a day, I know it doesn't apply to you because mine was free through work, but when they fixed mine, it fixed this exact problem!
Reppin' Alloytech 190/5 Speed Automatics.=
so its a six or an eight cylinder?
"stealership" sounds about right for servicing.
its an Alloytech 190 V6 mate
tapping sound could be a broken tensioner inside the engine...
