doors unlocking by themselves

my mum's vz exec unlocks itself after only a short time.

all of the doors unlock, not just the drivers.

the driver's door solenoid has been replaced since it stopped unlocking the driver's door, but that didn't cure the self unlocking.

has anyone else had this problem?

i think it might be a faulty bcm, but she's yet to take it to holden to have it checked out.

any suggestions?

I had the opposite happen once. I had all the doors unlocked, then started driving off. After a short while, all the doors locked. I thought it was an automatic response once I reached a certain speed, but it hasn't happened ever again

Yeah my VY driver's door unlocked and re-locked itself a couple of times when it was not deadlocked. I think the lock knob was sticking, therefore not going all the way down and the BCM thought that it was being manually unlocked. Havn't had the problem since and when I have to leave the car anywhere for any time I deadlock it and seems fine. I have had the door trim off quite a bit, to do different things, so maybe the door lock knob has a bit of a "dag" on it from prying the red bit out and hence doesn't go all the way down?

check your battery as well as a battery on its way out causes all sorts of very bizarre problems with the VZ.

yeah the driver's door lock tab wouldnt clip on to the rod properly so i switched that with a passenger one.

i think the battery is ok, it's been unlocking itself for about 9 months now.

cheers guys. i'm thinkning maybe it's the bcm playing up. it's an ex cop car so it's copped a flogging.

Yeah, my doors were locking themselves after i got in it.. freaked me out, thought it was possessed. I locked it and unlocked it a few times and have not had the problem since. If the car sits out in the rain too long the locks seem to jam-up as well.

My vz ute has this problem!!! haha i thought i was the only one..i have checked everything and the battery is new..got everything checked by a mechanic and still know one knows..it doesn't help that i live in a bad neighborhood when i go to get in my car in the morning and its already unlocked..i now make sure i take anything valuable out just in case!!
