Geez, an XU1 torana would do 16 seconds stock as a rock. Whats holden been doing the last 30 years ?
What was your mate driving in the other lane ?

pretty sure a torana is half the size of a vz commodore and considering you drive a VE Berlina you should know..pipe down

I know mate I know, thats why i was having a go at Holden not at you, first thing i noticed when i drove the VE was how wide it was and how heavy it was, it is a shame holden didn't spend some of the billion on losing weight.
Anyhow , this is off topic so i will stay out of it. Anyone with a VE time slip please post it. Fingers crossed its under 20 seconds !!

Damb mate you got a bad 60 footer there, with a 2.0 60 footer you would have got closer to a flat 15. I have run a 14.8 in my SV6 with only a VCM tune. I will have to have a look around for the timeslip.

Yeah much harder to get of the line consistently in a manual. Thing is even your MPH seems on the low side. Should be in the 92-94mph mark???

ahh ok, what is the best time you have run in your raptored beast? Would have to be in the 12's right?

nah... 13.4 is my personal best...

according to timeslips and comparing to another race with a cammed ls1 ran 12.9 (dunno what other mods) i need to get the 1st 330ft quicker, from 330ft on we were exactly the same or i was 0.04 slower between the markers

Yeah i thought that was your pb for the day as you said the MPH's were down. Nice so you could get into the 12's with a better launch. It just seems slow when so many boosted cars can get into the 12's with no problems eg Evo's, Xr6 Turbos ect. I even know of a few naturally aspirated 4 bangers that run mid 13's.

but this is the alloytec and tuning via vcm suite seems to be the limitation...
a comment like "It just seems slow when so many boosted cars can get into the 12's with no problems" you forget the cars you mention are F1 to start with!
proflow ran 12.551 @ 109.01mph using an aftermarket ecu
i think this is the quickest alloytec using the factory ecu tuned by vcm suite only... no aftermarket ecu's, no piggybacks, no tricks, no need to spend big $$...

    where your timeslip?

Don't get me wrong im not bagging your time or anything like that Im just comparing it to other cars and comparing bang for buck ect. My timeslip is somewhere amongst the 100's of timeslip's i have stashed away lol. Ive got no reason to BS mate ive owned much quicker cars then my SV6, i want an SS anyway hehe.

easily? from what i could see from the big drag meet at palymra last nite theres nothing easy about a 12 run whether your boosted or running big block engines.
    i say well done impulsesv6
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??

Once again i was not bagging the time i was just comparing it to other cars and motors. Running 12's in big block engines hard?? Running 10's or better is hard, 12's not so much to be brutally honest.

    but your still talking
full exhaust, diff, hi stall, cam, otr, tune to run a 12 in a ls1.... fair few $$$ there... obviously which end of the 12 is up to your selection of parts and tuner...

You don't need all that gear to run 12's though, go over to ls1.com.au and you will find that even with just an OTR, Exhaust and Tune you can get into the low 13's/ high 12's pending decent rubber. With cams you are into the low 12's if done right, 11's with auto's, higher stall converter and diff gears.
That's the great thing about an SS, you can go very quick for minimal $$$$ The exact reason my next car will be an SS Anyway im sorry for taking this thread off topic... opps
