New car - need some help

Hey guys. Names Luke and i just bought my first car, an 05 VZ SV6, 6 speed manual. (Will have a write up on it tomorrow when i get it back from the detailers)

Now i know posts like this have been started over and over, and yes...i have searched, just need some clarification.

Im thinking the first engine mods i wanna do is an exhaust, cai, tune and maybe diff gears later on.

Now firstly exhaust. Ive researched, but most of the post i have read seem to be dated back 4 or 5 years and it seems no one could come up with a definite size, and make up. So im hoping with time more systems have been tried and tested. Ive put it down to either single 2.5" or duel 2.25", then ive heard of using the hsv exhaust systems.
For now im thinking just a cat back system, but would like to eventually add headers before the tune. I am looking for mainly power increase out of my exhaust, not worried so much about noise (guessing any aftermarket exhaust will still give a decent note over stock?). I really dont want the drone that i got when i fitted a 2.5" system to my VL even though it sounded the tits, the drone was sometimes unbearable, and i HATE the tinny sound you sometimes here on some 6's. So while i want mainly power, no tinny sound or drone is the priority.
So what set ups do people recommend?

Secondly cold air intake, after doing some research on this topic ive heard that the growler and ss induction kits are rubbish (any feedback?). The 2-hole and MCAI mod sounds like best bang for buck. But then there is the mace cai, or the OTR set ups. Couldnt find much info on these two. So if anyone has any opinion on the most effective CAI set ups, I would love to hear them.

Now which is the best order to get these 2 mods done? for example does CAI work better with an exhaust set up? vice versa.

i have a MACE CAI and i reckon they are great. they sound awesome and you can definitely feel the extra power
