Default temperature gauge problem after installing CAI!!

i own a 2004 vz commodore and just recently installed an ss grolwer kit.
after installing that, a few days later i started experiencing some temperature gauge fluctuations
it would go from cold to a quarter, then up to hot, then back down to half and back up again.
during installation i may have knocked something or it could be just coincidence. i double checked i installed it correctly.
is there anything around the air intake like sensors etc that i may have knocked?
BTW THE CAR SAYS ITS OVERHEATING BUT THE ENGINE IS STILL WARM AND NO SIGN OF OVERHEATING SYMPTOMS.
    any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm.. the temp gauge indicates engine temp not intake air temp.

I'm not sure where the engine temp sensor is on your engine, but I would track it down and make sure it's connected well.

Other than that, not sure why this would be happening...

    thanks for the reply
there is no sensor as far as i saw in the box itself
there is however something attached to the intake pipe that is running some wiring.
not sure if that impacts the temperature gauge or not

ill look for where the engine temp sensor is on mine but i

was thinking because the computer is so used to restricted

airflow from the stock box that now computer is confused.

i dont think it would be thermostat would it?
