Has anyone fitted Monroe GT Sport Front lowered Struts into a VZ commodore with 20s,
I have been told these will lower the car 1cm instantly, where does this 1cm come from?,
does this mean it will have less Tyre clearence on the 20s? which means they will rub?
part numbers are 35-0577 and 35-0578
any help would be great!
Shocks by them selves can't lower a car, the height is determined by the springs.
Monroe GT sports are just set lower in the strut to suit really short springs without the shock shaft bottoming out at full bump,
If you were to remove the spring seat and all the brackets then the shock tube is the same length as a std strut tube.
The spring seat and knuckle bracket are set higher on the GT sports allowing a shorter rod height above the spring seat.

.....so if my 20z arent rubbing on my standard VZ struts they won't rub on the Monroe GT Sport?
That is correct.
For HD lowered springs I would use GT Sports but for FE2 springs I would use GT Gas instead as I have found the Sports too soft on initial bump with FE2 style springs.
The GT Gas are heavier on initial bump settings but they are marginal with regards to length when using with super low springs (shaft bottoming out).
