thanks for your reply.. i just went to get my ac serviced and guy told me that the car had extra gas in the compressor.. it was 950 ..while it should be 750 ..after the service i hve noticed a decrease in cooling ...!!
at the service they filled the gas with 750
if someone told you to get ur a/c serviced they are pulling your leg and making money out of you. there is no need to touch the a/c system unless there is a gas leak or a component like the compressor fails. unless there is a leak the system the gas will stay in there and work for the life of the system
I would be taking it back if you have noticed a decrease in efficiency.
I not long completed the a/c course, the fill charge is a guide only, it should be filled till the hi and lo side gauges read within the correct range of operation and the outlet temp is within spec, usually about 1 deg at the evaporator, so you have to allow for some heating up thru the ducts and out the dash, especially if the car is hot.
FYI to gain my certificate one of the questions is "how much does a system leak in a 12 month period?" answer around 5%. this increases with age and can be kept at bay by running the a/c year, summer and winter.
your incorrect it is a critial charge system and should only be charged to correct weight of refrigerant. your car should have a sticker telling you wat the charge is my vx says 800grams its put there for a reason. and your saying your system is going to leak 5% a year. now my car is 8 year old acording to that my car would have lost nearly half the refrigerent. now my air con still works perfect and has correct charge.
