Default VZ SS Headlights - Changing Parkers.

    Hey guys,

Just want to know whats involved to change the parkers in the ss headlights, Just got some new globes and had a quick look and it looks like theres a little more involved then when i had my VX. Looks like you have to move the battery and remove the airbox to get your hands in there.

Its just started to rain so i cant change them so i thought i would ask so when i do change them i know exactly what to do. I have the projecter style headlight if that changes anything.

    Thanks.

You don really have to remove anything to get them out, you just have to manoeuvre your hand around a bit.

All you need to do is reach behind the headlight until you feel a little plastic tab behind where the parker sits, you then twist it and the whole thing comes out.

Then you pull out the old globe, put the new one in and refit. Quite easy once you have found the tab.

im pretty sure you have to remove the battery to get that one out, but the side where the airbox is, just take off the radiator cover and you should be right

    Thanks for the replys,

Theres no way ill be ably to fit my hand between the battery to get to the parkers, my mate who has a sv6 ute has his parkers just under the low beam headlight globe but mine are to the side underneath the indicator. With the one near the airbox i might be able to get to the parker.

I honestly found it easiest to remove the bumper and the light. I did it that many times I pretty much had it down to a 10 minute job to remove, replace and refit.

When I changed my lights over, the most practical way for me was to shift the battery out of the way and move the airbox - as was mentioned. Its exceptionally tight in that gap, I couldn't get my hand in there. You changing over the other lights too? I mean you could take the whole front bar off but sounds like a fair bit of effort!

As you have a V8 model, the manual advises it is easier to remove the battery completely from the LHS and the airbow from the RHS.

However, I changed mine by loosening the battery clamp and pushing it to one side as fas as possible. Gave enough room to swap them over. For the other side, the radiator cover has to come off; five clips in total. Hope this helps.

^^ With all that effort it honestly seems that taking off the bumper is much easier

It might be, but I haven't had the bumper off yet, so for me, rather than potentially wreck something thats how I do it.

Whip the battery out, twist the big dust cover off, pull out the parker globe holder (just pull, no tricks), swap the globe, and chuck the whole thing back together. Honestly, its about as easy as looking in the owner's manual. (which is where the procedure is). No need to pull out the airbox, just pull off the snorkel. If the parkers are LEDs, make sure you test the light before putting it all back together, if they dont work, turn the connection around the other way. (polarity sensitive)

I just changed all of my globes to blue/white and they look mint. I got the blue LED parkers, the white lowbeams and highbeams off ebay for about $50 all up.

I was the same.. but if you read the guide it is a piece of piss to do and there is little to no chance of doing anything wrong.
