eBay leather seat covers

Hey, tried doing abit of a search on the cheap eBay semi-leather seat covers. I found that most people rekon with abit of adjusting and time spent fitting they end up looking and feeling pretty decent, I.e. When their new, they are good. But what happens to this semi-leather after its in the sun and been used for a year, or 3 years? Does it hold together or does it break up and crack etc?
