There is a Commodore Lumina wagon nearby here which has a "sticky indicator" upon lock-down. Sometimes it's the left rear flasher. Other times it's the right rear flasher (!). He seems to have his hands full with family priorities, relegating this "fault", if that is what it is, to the "too hard basket/not now I'm busy" category. In the meantime, every time I walk past his car in the open driveway, one of the flashers is sticky.
Maybe the tech instrument that the service guys use has an option to not flash, but said instrument would probably also identify a problem existing that requires attention.
I seem to recall also that the digital area of the speedo also has this option (what to flash/how it flashes or not) through the Mode menu (hold down MODE while turning ignition to ON).
