    Default central locking/ indicators

hi i have read on some other threads about people having problems with their bcm playing up and the indicators staying on. i was just wondering if/ how you could program your car so the indicators dont flash when you lock unlock your car it might be cheaper than replacing the bcm and i dont really care if they dont flash.

any help/ guidance would be appreciated
    cheers

There is a Commodore Lumina wagon nearby here which has a "sticky indicator" upon lock-down. Sometimes it's the left rear flasher. Other times it's the right rear flasher (!). He seems to have his hands full with family priorities, relegating this "fault", if that is what it is, to the "too hard basket/not now I'm busy" category. In the meantime, every time I walk past his car in the open driveway, one of the flashers is sticky.

Maybe the tech instrument that the service guys use has an option to not flash, but said instrument would probably also identify a problem existing that requires attention.
I seem to recall also that the digital area of the speedo also has this option (what to flash/how it flashes or not) through the Mode menu (hold down MODE while turning ignition to ON).

i have tried to change through the mode settings but it will only let you make the horn beep with indicators it wont let you turn the indicators off all together. i have spoken to my local mechanic and he said that his scan tool couldn't program it but sometimes there might be a way to do it through the mode/set and arrow buttons. and suggested to ask through the forums to see if anyone knew how too.

Mine don't flash when unlocking/locking the car. But just the other day I found out that my hazard lights don't work. Maybe that has something to do with it.

    Something's gone bung then.

Indicators should flash once on lock. Flash twice on unlock, and optionally the headlights will also come on (duration of this set through MODE control at ignition ON). Headlights coming on when unlocking as you approach at night are very useful in a darkened car park e.g. IKEA (!)

Two-stage unlocking and/or locking with deadlocking (electronic vs manual e.g. with key) can create a very confusing situation of not knowing when the car is fully locked or fully unlocked, so it's best I think to keep clear and present mind of what settings are in place: have one but not the other. You really don't want to be confused (or worse, infuriated to the point of almost breaking a window to get in) when you're in a hurry or standing in the pouring rain or a dawg is snapping at your heels...

I have the indicator not flashing problem. It comes on but doesn't flash (sometimes). Do I have to replace the BCM or is there some other way of fixing a BCM?

Replace a small sealed relay in the bcm...the relay sticks after a few years...drama is if it sticks open it will just not work but if it sticks on it will flatten your battery and if you let it go for any length of time the bulb holders in time will melt....pull the bcm out and replace the relay or if you have plenty of money and no time replace the bcm
Again read this post to learn about it

Detailed instructions on how to fix this issue are here

Should be very cheap to fix.
