Default where do your VZ temp needles usually sit?

    hey guys,

I'm just wondering where the temp gauge needle should sit once warmed up, this is mine after idling for about 20 minutes but where ive marked it is where it varies while driving, how about yours?

mines a 2005 SV6 and ive also done the two hole mod if that matters.

Moves to normal warm (white mark up from bottom) after 7 minutes driving and never goes above that, even after 4 hours on the freeway or in bog-slow city traffic. It's not summer yet, and I'm not a inchy-bitchy-slow-and-clinchy driver at any time, but techie said "it [engine] knows how to keep cool!", patting the kitty on top of the engine fondly. I've previously noted the two fans and thought one was a transmission oil cooler, the other being the radiator cooler, but apparently from reading posts one is linked to Air-con.

Just a tad above a quarter. No matter of outside temp or drive style or even idle. But before i did a coolant flush around half. I use Nulon Concentrate

Then your gauge is not too accurate, the temp is supposed to rise when in traffic until the thermo kicks in. My gauge accurately shows that the temp rises slightly when in traffic or when i give the car a very hard time. It moves between the same spots as the OP's pic.
You can check out your real coolant temp by holding down the mode button when starting the car then scroll though to the coolant temp screen.

Perfectly normal mate. The gauges holden use are not all that accurate so some of them don't move even though the temp of the engine has gone up 10 degress lol.

It ranges from 90c to 110c usually. It sits in the mid/low 90's when moving along on and rises up to 110 when in traffic.
