    Default VZ Ute Side Pipes

I was chatting to a guy at work and the topic of side exhaust pipes came up. Aparently if they exit the sides, they need to be a certain distance behind the last opening door. Does anyone kow this distance? Anyone estimate a quote for a dual side exit exhaust system?

    Hey man,
Apparently with tray back utes (one tonners) the exhaust can exit anywhere past the back of the cab (might have to be something like minimum 100mm)
But, with full well body vehicles (like the maloo, crewman, panel van, wagon, sedan) im pretty sure the exhaust has to exit between the body line and 100mm inside the body line. Now im not sure if it means at the back of the vehicle but im guessing it would because, Next to the fuel tank there's breather holes which means that exhaust gases can go from under the vehicle and into the cabin, whereas the exhaust gases from tonners can escape into the atmosphere without going into the cabin.

so yeh i dont think it would be safe and the cops would wanna have a field day with finding things wrong on your car

The legislation is the exhaust must exit past the last welded body seam. On a Commodore ute, this is at the rear, so the exhaust has to exit out the rear.

But then something is only illegal if you get caught....
