VZ Execitive using oil 3.6 V6

Is it normal for a VZ 3.6 (mine is an 06 model) to use some oil. I would say I am going through 500ml every 6000 to 7000 kms. It has 88,000 kms on the clock and has NO oil leaks.
I am generally very happy with the car but this oil using is bugging me.

i have a vz acclaim 2006 with 70,000 on it and it uses about the same amount it seems excessive but i have plenty of power and no other issues so i am not really worried.

it is normal operation for a motor to use oil, consult the owners manual for oil consumption rates
