I'm just trying to gather some information on my brake problems...

Symptoms:

Brakes lost pressure in first 3" all of a sudden after that the brakes seem to work fine. I changed the brake pads and tried to bleed the system to find out how hard (impossible) it is to bleed the ABS brakes. Anyway there doesn't seem to be any problems with the actual pad's/hydraulic system (slave cylinders) and I think I've narrowed it down to the Brake assist Vacuum booster/module. The hose from the manifold to the brake assist module seems fine. When depressing the brakes without engine on, the pressure in the first 3" increase's slowly, when the engine is turned on the pressure is instantly released and problem persists. Does this sound like i need a new brake assist module?

How hard is it to change out one of these things? After changing it I'd probably need to put it into the mechanic to bleed the brakes anyway (with vacuum system) so maybe i should just get them to do everything. Has anyone else come across this problem with their VZ? How did you fix it? was it easy?
