Default Fitting VZ Wagon Reverse Parking Sensor kit

    Hi,

I am currently fitting a factory Reverse Parking Sensor to a VZ Wagon, however have come across a small problem with fitting the sensor loom.

As per the attached picture, Step 10 directs to remove the metal plug from behind the right-hand side wheel arch, however taking a quick look at my wagon, there doesn't appear to be a metal plug fitted. Is the plug located further inboard above the fuel tank, or is it located elsewhere on the wagon?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Well I decided to bite the bullet & remove the rear bumper, to see if there was any wiring access holes.

Lo & behold, there was a blanking grommet under the righthand front cabin air outlet vent. After removing the blanking grommet, passing the Reverse Parking Sensor loom through was a piece of cake. The instructions are definitely inadequate in this regard & also for the removal of the inner quarter panel.

As the problem has been solved, a Mod can close this thread if they deem it of little remaining use.

    Cheers

    To answer your questions:

    1. Definitely worth it. The RPS system works well & makes parking a lot easier (especially with a wagon).

    2. Yes, holes are required to be drilled through the bumper. The kit includes all the drilling templates, but it requires a 17mm (size from memory) spade bit to carry out the actual drilling for the sensors.

    3. Except for the spade bit (as per above), the factory kit I fitted included everything required.
