    Default Big Brakes

Gday to all. I have a question Im hoping someone can answer. I have a VZ Senator and it has a big brake kit. I am uncertain who put the kit together as it has 6 piston AP calipers up front with 365mm x 34mm DBA 7000 series rotors. The rears I have not measured yet but it has 4 piston AP calipers. Its due for some new front rotors. No problem getting the rotors but the hats are custom made and Im not sure what bolts were used and which ones to get to replace them. Is any one aware of these kits and who makes them up. Or better still tell me where i can buy the bolts from. (They appear to be different from DBA ones.) Thanks..

It sounds like you have the VZ HSV GTS AP kit fitted as fitted to the last of the Monaro based HSV coupe's.

VZ HSV's were available standard with the 6 piston AP Fronts, so it may not be a custom hate etc. It could just be the genuine setup, but you won't be able to replace the rotor without going through genuine, so the best thing to do is just to get a replacement DBA 5000 rotor to suit, then next time round you'll be able to just replace the rotor ring. New slotted rotors (with hat) are $609 each, then later on the replacement rings are $409 each.

Or you could have definitely completely different, as HSV never had a 34mm rotor standard (maximum has been 32mm), and the 6 piston AP's came on a 362mm rotor, not a 365mm...

    Gonna need some more details....

Rotor part no is DBA 7870sl and 7870sr (left and right) calipers are cp5555. They are def 365 x 34. Dba 5000 don't fit and the vz 6 piston pads are completely different.
