Have a bit of weird one with my SV6, couldn't find anything with a search.
After I turn the car off, sometimes before I can even shut the door, sometimes as I'm walking away after locking the car, sometimes 10 minutes later - The accessories will turn back on. The aerial will come back up, the radio will turn back on, wipers will turn on if the switch is on etc. all by itself.
It started doing it about a month ago, did it for something like a week and just stopped. Now it's started happening again yesterday.
If I get back in the car turn the ignition on and then off again, the accessories will turn back off. Sometimes they'll turn back on again (by itself) straight away, sometimes later, sometimes not at all (or for a while).
I've tried turning off the option that keeps the accessories on until you open the door, but it made no difference.
So I'm completely out of ideas, all I've got left is it's a ghost lol
Time to pull apart the antenna connector, clean all connections points use some non conductive grease or the like and reassemble.
Cheers,
Dave
You're thinking it's something to do with the antenna? Only thing is it's not just the antenna, it's sending power to all accessories..
Which antenna connector? One behind the head unit or at the antenna?
Went outside and it did it again today, decided to have a look at the fuse box. The accessories control relay was a bit warm and the case had gone a bit brown so I swapped it out with another one but that made no difference. Probed the terminals and it was sending power to the relay
seems like something is shorting out to contact with the battery. just work your way backwards until you find something i guess.
Sounds like a short to power, any non gen accessories fitted to the car?
Silver Certified.
Mate I had this problem too after installing an aftermarket alarm with remote start. It seems commodores don't like non Holden accessories especially aftermarket alarms

Just humour me and unplug the power ant (behind the quarter panel) and see if that helps![]()

Whoops I missed these replies lol
Nothing non genuine in the car, as far as I know the whole thing is bog stock.
It got weirder after I last posted a couple of weeks ago. The night after I changed that relay it drained the battery and I had to jump start it the next day.. to be expected I know but was a little weird that every other time the radio had stayed on all night it didn't even struggle to start, just did it that once.
So for the next few days whenever I got out of the car I'd pull out the accessories relay to make sure it didn't happen again, then one day I got in the car and drove home forgetting to put the relay back in but the radio came on as normal anyway. I didn't even realise until I got home and the radio wouldn't even turn off at all with the key, ended up having to pull the radio fuse.
But it pretty much hasn't done it since
Cheers mate, I'll give it a go when (if?) it starts doing it again.
Would be nice if it was at least consistent haha
Could be the BCM shitting itself?
Silver Certified.
Not what I want to hear
Would plugging in to the diagnostics show up with anything like that?
Not realy as it will only show you the list of codes it has set, and a data list of the inputs etc, it realy needs to be playing up for the scan tool to help
Yer I'm having the same Problem with my Vz sv8 ATM it's becoming a real pain, were u able to fix the problem and if so, how??
It just sort of.. disappeared lol
It hasn't happened since I last posted about it. Maybe try pulling the relay and fuse for a while? Purely because that's the only thing I touched
Sorry I can't help, but it's nice to know someone else has the problem and I'm not crazy haha
I had this problem with my ss vy before , just check all the fuse(the which is under the steering wheel). Then unplug the battery for 20 mins , then replug it again...I did that and i didn`t has this problem again until i sold the car . Hope it works with your car![]()
Ok might give that a go first then, thanks for the help hopefully I have the same luck
I wonder if changing the 'Acc off' feature on the intrument cluster to trigger 'off' with key rather than 'doors' would solve the problem?
I wonder if when the radio comes on by itself, does it play 1950's do-wop? Probably only if the car is white over red......
