Last Friday i got fitted pacemaker extractors and high flow cats to my VZ SS 6ltr. On the saturday with the floods went through a bit of water and was coming home to melb with the misses cruising on the hwy/fwy at about 110km/h and started hearing a couple of pops maybe three times max then stopped at a set of lights cause they were red and all of a sudden the engine light came on and a message telling me check powertrain with a picture of a engine and a lightining bolt flashing. In the end took it into holden and they came back to me with this answer "Checked and found engine logging Catalyst system efficiency DTC's" so they tell me i need to take it back to the exhaust shop or i need to get the engine remapped.
Spoke to the exhaust shop i got the work done at and he was saying he's never had a problem like this before. he is just suggesting maybe just changing plugs and leads and leaving the battery disconnected over night to see if that does anything. Then i went to another exhaust shop and he is telling me that i need to get a tune/edit done.
So now i dont know what to do thinking i wouldnt of thought i needed to do the tune/edit just yet with the exhaust. What does everything think?
might be your o2 sensors? maybe get that checked
dont know for sure, but i think you had 4 o2 sensors previous, and then after fitting the pacies, i think they only use 2 o2 sensors? so that may be the problem. how to fix it i dunno, but im sure some people here may help with that one
its the coil pack.. happened to me the other month.
