Smile VZ- Fuel smell in cabin

    G'day,
I get the occassional fuel smell in the cabin.
It's more common when the tanks above half.
I've done all the easy things like getting new fuel cap, checking the fuel lines in the engine compartment.
I'm thinking it may be a problem at the tank end.
How hard is it to drop the tank?
    Any tricks or tips?
Thought i'd ask you blokes before i have a crack at it.
    Thanks.

With mine I found it wasn't so much getting a new cap - as tightening the old one.

Just don't rely on hearing the clicks. After the clicking, grap the outside circumference of the cap & squeezing inward, physically turn it a bit more so that it seals tight.

Should fix the problem. Does for most people.

Exactly as stated above only make sure that after you think it is tight turn it a few more times.

If the VZ's are anything like my mates VT they'll have a charcoal canister in the rear above the diff cradle which the breather hoses go to. if this is cracked or the hoses to it then you will get fuel vapour smells.
