    Question Missing computer functions?

I was just having a flick through my VZ SV6 owners manual and came to the section where it showed all the computer functions such as digital speed ON or OFF, rest reminder ON or OFF etc.

The problem is, i wanted to change how the drivers door unlocks first then all the others after another click so i would have them unlocking all at once, ive gone through my car's menu and it seems like that setting isn't in there, aswell as the headlight setting, locking indicator and a few more.

just wondering if im doing something wrong or anything, cheers.

Sounds like you a deadlocking the car as opposed to locking normally, or two-stage unlock has been enabled on the computer (through MODE).

Lock+Lock = Engages deadlock (electronic jamming)
Unlock (once) = unlock driver's door while other doors remain deadlocked
Unlock+Unlock = Disengages deadlock from all doors.

When deadlock is engaged the indicators will remain on for a few more seconds than normal locking.

aftermarket, i thought that i would be unable to see some of the features that had stuff to do with the stock head unit but i didnt think it would matter for things like the doors locking and to choose whether you'd like just indicators or indicators and beep when locking.

you can only acces this menu after you turn the key, after the holden check it says push one of the arrows and it drops u into a sub menue then u scroll through the options using the mode button and arrows.. hope this helps

pretty sure you cant get to alot of functions without the stock headunit. if you really want to get to the menu, just chuck in the stock headunit, change the settings you want and then put ur aftermarket one back in

    or...
...the menu can also be entered by pressing and holding MODE while turning the key to ON to enter the menu system (no start needed).

Just a passing note that if you have POLICE MODE engaged then some menu items will not be available (this is surprisingly very common with people buying from Services fleets). Best to remove POLICE MODE as it has no benefit; a techie will do that with his plug-in.

best bet would be to throw in the stoock unit and then change them to what you want, then change it again

You can get them re-enabled after installing an aftermarket head unit if you wish, the dash just needs a software update to restore access to the features that are blocked when removing the factory head unit.

not saying that it is it, just everyone knows some of the features are disabled, and its easy to just change them over just to see.

just tell them that you've put an aftermarket head unit in and have lost some of the functions in the hidden menu, they'll be able to sort it out for ya

I have the exact same problem as the op and every holden dealership I have contacted has told me there is no other firmware and that I just have to put up with it.

What is this magical firmware everyone keeps suggesting? Have people actually had this done to their Vz's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just tell them to re-flash the software, if they can't do that take it elsewhere as they are obviously retarded/don't have the tools required.

Well i took it down to my local holden dealer and that was a waste of time..i had to speak to three different people for some guy to understand my problem. They all thought i didnt know how to turn the fuctions on but i was sitting there telling them that THE FUNCTIONS ARNT THERE...

But anyway in the end the bloke said hes never seen this happen before and that i should take it back to whoever did my stereo install? :/ (asif they would know)

I asked about the re-flashing of the software and they reckon it wouldnt do anything...now what?

Where are you getting this information from? It has been confirmed multiple times that re-flashing the cluster restores the functionality lost when installing an aftermarket head unit.

they told me it would be $65 to hook it up to their computer tool or whatever, i guess thats how much a re-flash would cost.
