Hey Guys,
Purchased some manifold insulators for my SV6 on the weekend. Have downloaded the guide on how to install them from MACE. Seems pretty straighforward, is there anything in particular I should look out for when installing?
Have also got the MACE cold air intake to go with it.
Twin 2.25" exhaust and extractors with high flow cats to follow next week.
Anything else I should add before I go for a tune?
Cheers,
Andrew
Change the spark plugs at the same time if they're any where near close to needing changing, it'll save time and effort in the future.
Also, on the instructions it says the 6 bolts on top are in a rectangle - on my Calais they were staggered so there's not 2 at the front but 1 riiiiiiiight at the back kinda behind the manifold.
Apart from that it's easy
The front right bolt of the manifold (as indicated by Mace which requires the extension bar to go down through the manifold) is not required to be undone. There is one at the extreme rear (not indicated by Mace) that has to also be removed and replaced. When you have the manifold off, be very careful not to drop anything down into the intake above the valves. If using the Silcon based gasket, don't use too much as it can squeeze out and restrict air flow into the engine. If you obtain sparkl plugs from Holden make sure you take along your V.I.N. as there are two types of plugs used in the Alloytec and they will need to identify the correct part number. Early and late model.
Cheers guys. Ive heard NGK Gold's are the way to go for spark plugs?
veryy easy to install as people said be sure not to drop anyy thing down into the engine
ill be doing mine this weekend. depending on my funds i might go the sparkys aswell.
have you guys noticed any difference?
