    Default time to change belt

apparantly i need to change on of my belts but i cant remember which one? its a belt you should change after reaching 100,000kms.

does any body know which belt this is and how much approx. it might cost?

    cheers

    Who told you this?

Sounds like they may be referring to the timing belt...which VZs don't have, they run chains.

Although they could be referring to the serpentine fan belt, but I'm not certain on the life-span of those.

Does the belt have lots cracks through it? Bits missing? Tears? If so, it's probably best to change it sooner rather than later. More preventative maintenance than anything. Better to change it before it breaks and leaves you on the side of the road.

Draw a picture of how it goes before you remove the old one as it only fits one way.

From memory, the belt is a 6PK2555 and will set you back $45-50. Once again, that's just from the top of my head, so don't go quoting me on that.

That's RRP just for the belt on it's own.

I often get quite shocked reactions from customers when I tell 'em the price..

But guys it may not need changing at all, as his friend said that the belt needs to be changed every 100 000, his most likely referring to a timing belt, and as already stated, the vz don't have one.
