Sup.
Bought a VZ wagon, and I take delivery of it sometime this week. One issue that's gonna bug me, is the rear driver's side window is a bit sticky.
When it's going down, it's slow until it's about half way down, then goes at normal speed. Same thing going up, but in reverse. It'll be fine until it hits about half way, then slows down quite a bit and slowly creeps up. Meanwhile the window motor is groaning a bit.
Ideas? Just gotta pop the door trim off and check all the seals and whatnot, make sure nothing is dragging? Any particular type of lube better than others for this type of problem?
Thanks, ladies and gentlemen.
I lubricate my power windows with a shiteload of graphite powder every so often, keeps them smooth as silk.
Make sure the rubber seal hasnt folded over on itself in the window track. Also make sure the window reg isnt bent out of shape or fouling on anything.
Silicon lube in the tracks works well but may attract dirt..
Silver Certified.
I've been told both of the above, graphite powder and the silicon lube.
I might try the graphite powder in the tracks first, to keep it dry and not attract any dirt. If that doesn't work, I'll give the silicon stuff a go.
Thanks gentlemen.
