Default VZ clutch V6 price issue

Sometime in the past I must've left planet earth. I've searched on eBay for alloytec clutches, nothing. I went to supercheap, autobarn, and other auto shops like that, too expensive. So I tried to get my mate who works at an aftermarket shop to source one, bingo!

So I went there to pick it up for 750 bucks, but it turns out the wrong clutch was ordered and it was for a V8. So I thought 'beauty' the clutch for a 6 pot will be cheaper. Then he told me how much a V6 clutch will be. Double the price!

This is for a standard V6 clutch with a solid flywheel (which is cheaper than dual mass). Has the world gone mad? Or is someone having me on? Why the hell can a smaller clutch with a smaller flywheel, designed to take half the torque of it's big brother cost more? Someone wake me up PLEASE!

V6 clutch would be much less common than a V8 clutch, thus more expensive.

It's like anything. If they're as common as muck, they won't be that expensive. The less common the item is, the more expensive a replacement will be to purchase.

I paid about $1300 for my Xtreme Single Mass Flywheel and clutch plate Parts + installed back in the day. There is no need to go replacing the slave cylinder if yours is fine, save some $$ there, i think i got it cheaper then a standard holden replacement fitted.. How funny, a better part for cheaper?!

I'll give those guys a call and see what they can sort out.

If not, I'll just weld it to the flywheel while I build up some coin.
