    Default Urgent help needed!! :(

    Hey guys,

Just tried installing the MACE manifold insulators into my SV6.

Let the car sit for 3 hrs while the goo dried.

Turned car on, and it came up with a service vehicle soon.
and then "Safety mode" "reduced Performance"

    What would be causing this!!!!

    Yeah, its plugged back in.

Car is idling at a fraction over 600 rpm.

When I put my foot on the accelerator, to say.....1500 RPM, it will hold 1500 RPM for a second, and then drop to 400, then jump back up to 1500 again. All the while, im holding my foot in the exact same position...
It almost stalls when it drops to 400 or less rpm...

Any ideas? Probably a vaccum leak?

With the car just sitting there, it idles fine, at a bit over 600rpm.........

    Crisis averted!

Loose electrical connection below the throttle body......!

Pays to double and triple check everything you put back together!

Yeah no worries mate. Going for a decent trip down to Bunbury and back tomorrow, will test it out and see how it goes.

I found they didn't give a massive improvement, but it was definitely noticeable, if for nothing else but the temperature of the intake manifold - mine was almost cold after a 6hr drive from interstate (the strut brace above the manifold certainly wasn't so cool!!!). I think there is also a slight improvement in low-down torque. So for $150 or whatever they cost these days, its pretty well worth it, especially if you're due for a change of spark plugs

Richard Mate, These are a Placebo effect gain, Everyone i have spoken to report these miniscule gains of 2 - 3 kw, something no one would notice. Bang for Buck, i would be saving pennies here at $150 or what ever they are worth. My car isnt the fastest out there, but it has beaten "Placebo" Cars time and time again, on and off the track!

If you want power from your Alloytec - Diff gears, Full exhaust, mcai, clutch Upgrade (if manual)
if you want quicker then that get a Supercharger, Raptor, CAPA and a few others will be nice with a dyno Tune

What do the spacers have to do with changing plugs? Manifold comes off an on in 15 minutes anyway
