I am rebiulding a v6 alloytec motor and looking for replacement conrod bolts the geniune are very exspensive 37 each times 12 ....has anyone found aftermarket bolts to siut ?
not sure whever i should reuse old bolts but seem reco shops say i shouldnt
has anyone tried reusing conrods bolts ?
Mmmmmmmm, so if you are going to all the trouble of rebuilding the engine why compromise on the quality/standard of the bolts. If the originals appear OK (not stretched, cracked etc) then they could (COULD not SHOULD) be OK.
take the bolts to autobarn or alike and see it they can match them

Don't be tight, get a set of ARP bolts and do it properly, they aren't expensive. I paid $161 for a set of Ecotec conrod bolts. Better to pay this than to lose a big end.
