Hi all,
Would like to hear from those who have purchased VCM Suite and used it to tune their alloytec.
If you could go back, would you not bother doing it yourself and just pay someone else to do it for you?
Please include if you are hard core (extract every last kw out of it) or just like me (moderate improvement in performance, driveability and maybe economy)
Also what are the "real" benefits in order of preference that can be had by a custom vcm tune.
eg:
- Disable torque management (correct me if I am wrong but this is the greatest improvement)
- Alter shift points
- Fuel Economy
I have found bits and pieces on justcommodores and other sites however some of it is dated and doesn't really state if it is really worth while. What is the bang for buck when you purchase it and invest some time getting it right?
Thanks
I'm planning to buy the VCM pro sometime next week while the dollars high. I'll let you know my experiences after I've had a play with it. I think the major selling point is the compatiabilty between such a huge range of models as I'm planning to upgrade to a V8 sometime although the whole credits system is a bit of a downside. I'm a huge fan of doing things myself and would never consider paying someone else to tune an ECU. It's really very easy once you get into it.
Yeah it is tempting while AU $$$ is powering. Will you go with pro version?
Shipping is $88.50

Yeah will definitely grab the pro version, will hopefully have the order placed this week.
Apparently once you buy it, you have access to a repository of tunes that other users make available.
Would be nice if you could get a basic tune with all the main garbage removed (torque mgt) then go from there with your own tweaking.
sorry to bump an old thread, But would like to know exactly what this guy has asked. These are all my questions. So, did you buy it, is it worth it ? should I just get tuned by a pro ? or should I spend the $800 and do it my self for as long as I want?
Yeah. How did you go abg?
Did you buy it and how did you go with it?
Cheers
so no one on here has the Program itself ? Or should I just start my own thread ?
From what I can gather you will be looking at a whole lot of pain if you do it yourself.
You will end up stalking various forums around the place begging people for help and being spoon fed information when it suits others.
Commo, if your not going to get any more mods, get it done once by a professional.
